why won’t my boyfriend take me out? 🙁

my boyfriend swears he loves me but he never takes me anywhere and I can’t understand why! he thinks I get upset because he goes out but in reality, it’s because he doesn’t include me. his friends always invite their girlfriends and he’s always third-wheeling when he doesn’t have to!
when we hang out it’s usually at his house or mine. I don’t understand why he won’t do anything with me. we try and make plans but he never comes through. there’s always something. his friends know we are together and mine do as well. I guess my question is why won’t he go anywhere with me? the only time he ever mentions going out is when he knows I’m reaching my breaking point.
