Friends share their heartfelt tributes for Matthew Perry as their last goodbyes to set his soul free.
It’s been more than twenty years since Friends fans were first graced with the presence of Joey, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, Monica, and Phoebe.
And just two weeks ago we had to say goodbye forever to Chandler (Matthew Perry) who was found dead in his home while the reason still remains unknown, HeTexted.com reports.
Two days after Perry’s death, the “Friends” stars released a joint statement breaking their silence.
The statement, released on Oct. 30, expressed their devastation over the loss of Matthew and emphasized that they were more than just castmates – they were a family.
The statement also mentioned that there was a lot to say, but for the time being, they needed to take a moment to grieve and process the loss.
Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow each expressed their own heartfelt messages recently.
Let’s look at their relationship over the years and how they honored him sharing with others their close bond and friendship.

The chemistry between Chandler Bing and Monica Geller on Friends was absolutely electric! It’s no wonder people wondered if their connection went beyond acting.
Matthew Perry’s adoration for Courteney Cox was undeniable, evident in the way he looked at her on set.
Their bond grew stronger with each season, and it’s clear that their connection was more than just friendship.
While their relationship remained platonic, it’s natural to catch feelings for someone you work closely with.
Although they do get married in the show, in real life, Cox fell in love with David Arquette, who appeared in an episode of Friends. They got married but later divorced in 2013.
Cox took to Instagram yesterday and shared a small clip of Chandler and Monica with a heartfelt caption.
“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day.” Courtney wrote.
The actress also shared a backstory of how ‘Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one-night stand in London but because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story’.
Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry
Chandler Bing and Rachel Green
Matthew Perry wrote about his relationship with Jennifer Aniston, sharing some unknown details.
During their early years of knowing each other, Matthew Perry confessed to having feelings for her colleague.
He further shared that he experienced heartbreak when she turned down his request for a date.
She did turn him down but offered him the chance to be friends and that is how they formed a close friendship.
On “Friends,” however, their characters shared a fleeting kiss in a flashback at a college party and in a season five episode where Chandler tried to cover up his affair with Monica by kissing Rachel, Phoebe, and Monica.
Jennifer Aniston gave a heartfelt remembrance of Matthew Perry after his untimely death, revealing the sweetness of their connection.
The actress revealed via Instagram how his loss had “cut deep.” She uploaded a snap of the two of them grinning on the set, followed by she displayed off a cute text that Matthew had sent her.
Ross Geller and Chandler Bing
Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer
Although they weren’t as vocal about their friendship as the other “Friends” cast members, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer clearly had a deep respect for each other.
In his memoir “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” Perry revealed that Schwimmer played a key role in negotiating higher salaries for the entire cast.
Schwimmer recognized his early success on the show and used his influence to secure better pay for everyone, proposing a collective approach to renegotiating their contracts.
Thanks to Schwimmer’s efforts, the cast was able to receive equal compensation.
The only insight people got into their friendship was when one made fun of the other at different events and many were happy when David shared his farewell post for Matthew Perry.
In his post, the actor thanked Perry for all he had done, for his kind heart, his funny character, and how he was such an astonishing person.
“I imagine you up there, somewhere, in the same white suit, hands in your pockets, looking around—“Could there BE any more clouds?” Schwimmer wrote.
Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry
Chandler and Joey
Joey and Chandler’s friendship was truly one of a kind. They were the ultimate bromance, standing out as the closest duo in the series.
What made their bond even more special was the genuine connection between the actors who portrayed them. Both together and separately, the duo has spoken highly of each other.
LeBlanc even went as far as to say that he and Perry could go five years without seeing each other and still pick up right where they left off.
Perry, who has been open about his struggles with addiction, holds LeBlanc in high regard
With a heavy heart, LeBlanc gave his friend a goodbye yesterday sharing how he feel about him.
It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never” Matt wrote
And the joke he made at the end sounded so much like something Perry would have said “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me”, in our heads we all saw Matthew smile.
Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry
Phoebe and Chandler
Offscreen, Perry and Kudrow’s chemistry translated into a genuine and caring friendship that would warm any fan’s heart.
For all the Chandler and Phoebe fans out there just so you know, Perry confessed that he had romantic feelings for Lisa Kudrow while they were filming “Friends.”
He also admitted to having crushes on Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox. Perry even went on to say that it was difficult to work with them because he had to pretend that he didn’t have these crushes.
Perry had made a vow not to date his castmates and he respected that always. He was thankful for Lisa the most especially after she stayed close to him during his addiction journey.
She too bid her friend farewell with an Instagram post thanking him for everything but mostly for the time they got to spend with one another.
“Thank you for all I learned about GRACE and LOVE through knowing you. Thank you for the time I got to have with you, Matthew.” Kudrow wrote.
