Why did my best friend freeze me out without reason,
By sadcookie | Oct 15 2014
So today I just admitted to my best friend that I like him. I mean... Ahem... You know... LIKE him. Although he is not in love with me, he took it really well and was extremely sweet and complimentary about it. He said he admired my courage and honesty because he knows I am a shy person and it must have been difficult for me to open up like that. He said that his respect for me had gone through the roof. We had a long, deep and beautiful talk about our friendship and how much we care for each other and although we are still just friends, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest. All the signs seem to point to our friendship being able to withstand this revelation. Thank God!!! :-D I feel so blessed.
However, before I dropped this bomb on him, we had a little thing going on where he used to ask me to call him to wake him up each morning for work (even though he has an alarm.) He claimed it was because he just "likes to hear my voice". Today, after our talk, he didn't say: "call me at 8" like he usually does, so I asked him: "You going to wake up by yourself tomorrow?" He said I should do what I think is right.

Two of my closest friends (John and Jane, for the purposes of this) are into each other right now and they want to start dating... I've know John longer and I almost had a thing with him, but we never actually started dating. That was almost a year ago, but honestly I know him very well and I don't think he's a great person for my best friend, Jane, to be dating!
He's been with 3 different girls since last summer and she hasn't had a boyfriend ever. John even admitting to liking multiple girls, even while having a girlfriend. He has already kissed 4 people and he would be her first... That's not a huge deal, but it has always been kind of important to her and it won't be very special with John.
Another thing is that he is a teenage boy with hormones and has shown no lack of interest in sex. Jane is religious and definitely wants to hold off until marriage, we're just in high school!!!
The last point is that John has already told her things that he's said to me in the past (i.e. "I will always love you", "I will fight for you forever", etc.) and she's fallen for it. He obviously has done this before and knows what to say, even if it's not true.
I've talked to them both, especially Jane, a lot about this but they see no problem with it! We are getting older and into more serious relationships. I just have a bad feeling about this and I don't see it lasting…if it gets bad between them, I don't want to lose John as a friend and I don't want Jane to get hurt! This is just and awkward situation that none of us should be in.
